The name takes to cue from one of the titles them of the sutra of loto (the instructions of Gautama Siddharta), than literally it means “without limits”, while DIVE, than translate from English means dive, for we is an immersion, consequently the complete meaning of our name is: “immersion without limits”. This does not mean that we are suffered of the deep immersions but more simply, is lovers of the underwater one and wants to space consequently with the innumerevoli experiences that our sport offers to us and to be able to know more possible forms than life. The logo in fact it can have two meanings, first the much most intuitable one is a stilizzata shell of the type “Latiaxis Frutticosus Kosuge” of the family of the Coralliophidae, than for its form to spiral a little recalls the sense of a vortex. The vortex in fact for according to meaning seems nearly not to have fine, like note the sense not to have limits in the element water, like our whirling activities.

Free Diving Courses

Free Diving Courses - Fugen Dive Scuba School
The courses in the PSS Worldwide Free Diving division cover a number of activities generally defined using the terms "free diving" and "snorkeling" or "snorkelling" (in American or British English). When using the term "snorkeling" PSS means the activity of observing the underwater world from the surface while simply swimming using snorkeling equipment. Snorkeling activities may also include making a few shallow dives ("skin diving"), within the ability of even beginners, below the surface. Instead, the term "free diving" means a more demanding activity carried out at deeper depths and therefore not limited to proximity to the surface.

In each case it is generally an activity carried out for personal enjoyment and is therefore often defined as "recreational". It is therefore necessary that PSS Worldwide establishes the safety limits able to fully define the concept of a " recreational activity carried out in safety".

Limits for recreational snorkeling and free diving activities:

  • Snorkeling for Juniors: max 1.5 m (5 feet)
  • Snorkeling: max 2.5 m (8 feet)
  • Skin Diver: max 5 m (16 feet)
  • Junior Free Diver: max 8 m (26 feet)
  • Free Diver: max 10 m (33 feet)
  • Advanced Free Diver: max 20 m (66 feet)
  • Technical Free Diving: varies with the course level
The snorkeling and free diving courses are conducted in collaboration with the world champion Gianluca Genoni.

Recreational Courses

Recreational Courses - Fugen Dive Scuba School
The courses in the PSS Recreational division belong to the branch of diving generally defined as "recreational".

This term is intended to mean diving activities carried out for personal enjoyment as a pleasant way for a person to spend his or her free time.

In reality, over the years the meaning of the term has changed until it has now come to mean "diving activities carried out within certain well-defined limits". Exceeding these limits you enter an area of diving defined as "technical" (the subject of the PSS Technical courses). In effect, technical divers also dive for their own enjoyment, while only a few divers dive as a profession: guides, instructors and their assistants.

The courses in the PSS Recreational division are carried out using an open circuit aqualung, air or nitrox, and not deeper than 40 meters and within the maximum no-stop dive times.

Limits of recreational diving activities:

  • Scuba Experience: max 12 m (40 feet)
  • Scuba Diver max: 12 m (40 feet)
  • Open Water Diver: max 18 m (60 feet)
  • Junior Advanced Open Water Diver: max 21 m (70 feet)
  • Advanced Open Water Diver: max 30 m (100 feet)
  • Deep Diver: max 40 m (132 feet)
The absolute limit for recreational diving: 40 m (132 feet)
